BIO
Camille Lemieux is a certified Funeral Celebrant proudly serving families across Greater Sudbury and the Sudbury-East region. He is also the coordinator and professor for the Funeral Director Class 1 & 2 programs at Collège Boréal, where he helps shape the next generation of funeral professionals. Camille is a licensed funeral director in Ontario and a licensed embalmer in Quebec. Originally from St-Charles, ON, Camille graduated from “École secondaire de la Rivière-des-Français” before pursuing post-secondary studies at Collège Boréal, where he obtained a diploma “Formation en services funéraires” and a certificate in “Pratiques en administration des affaires’’. He also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies at Laurentian University and continues to engage in extensive professional development every year.
Deeply committed to the advancement of the funeral profession, Camille is actively involved in collaborating with professional associations and regulatory bodies across Canada. From 2021 to 2024, he contributed to the research project: “Understanding the Canadian Way of Death by advancing and strengthening innovations in services, rituals and human resources in Ontario's post COVID-19 Bereavement Sector”. Through this work, he collaborated with the Ontario Association of Cemetery and Funeral Professionals (OACFP), Collège Boréal, and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to help develop a specialized training program for funeral professionals: Leadership for Change in the Bereavement Sector Workplace. Furthermore, Camille is known for his generosity and dedication to his community. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors of Collège Boréal and of the Foundation of Collège Boréal. He also volunteers as a firefighter in Capreol for the City of Greater Sudbury.
